just checkin in...

well hello there! I feel like I've been totally outta my groove lately, so sorry for the long lag between posts. :(

so I've been battling my lame, old knee again and will be going back to physical therapy... it's weird, but I actually really miss doing the P90X every morning. :( my guns are slowlying shrinking and it makes me sad. SO, on monday we are starting again... a minor setback in a lifetime of being healthy and fit. right?

wedding stuff is slowly getting done and time is moving forward a little faster than I really want it to. LOL!

um... oh and I just bought a new laptop, so we have a killer computer now and I can start putting myself out there to do more design work on the side. :) I'm super stoked and extremely nervous about the whole thing, but I know it will be a good, no a great thing!!!

ok, that's all i have right now. It's friday and I'm just about to leave work! woo hoo!!!

a crazy couple weeks

So, yesterday marked the 6 months until the big day! I am starting to feel the time pass a little faster and the panic is starting to creep up… On the other hand we are starting to mark things off the list too. We have our rings and will be booking our plane tickets for the honeymoon this weekend. It has been a crazy last couple weeks.

The most intense moments started last Thursday when our little Mimi woke up not feeling so good. She was throwing up and couldn’t stop. :( So she spent the day with the vet. They checked her out and then gave her lots of fluids and some medicine to help her stop throwing up. She looked so pitiful; it really was scary to see her so lethargic and obviously not feeling good at all. If you don’t know Mimi, she is a very energetic, 12 yr old little Chihuahua. To see her not want to get up at all way was hard. They sent her home with some medicines and a regiment for her feedings. Friday she just rested allllll day, but by Saturday night and into Sunday early morning, she was up and getting sick again. So… back to the vet we go. They did an even more extensive exam and even did x-rays. We had to leave her that all day, which made for a very stressful day of waiting and worrying. She came home with more medicine and even stricter rules about her food intake. Finally, Sunday she seemed back to herself. She was running around and her little tail was wagging like crazy. Then, Monday morning… she didn’t want to eat and her tummy was making all sorts of noises. She had to go to the vet to have the IV taken back out of her leg from her visit on Saturday, so they looked her over one more time and sent us home with some probiotics and a couple more instructions…….. That evening, she finally ate some food and ever since then, she’s been better and better each day.

Whew! What a stressful and scary time that was. Now I finally feel like I can change my focus back to the wedding and home stuff and getting back to the workout routine. I really feel like there are more and more little details that I think about and want to make sure we talk it over and decide. The really cool thing is that we had our cupcake tasting last week and decided on flavors and looks. The wedding event girl was really cool and super excited to be able to do the cupcakes for our wedding. They had a promotion going on where you get a free t-shirt and she was sweet enough to make sure we each got one. Usually just the bride does, but um… we are both brides, so we both got one. :) Here is a photo of the super cute t-shirt we got! It says "These cupcakes are taken"

I won’t get into what happened to the cupcakes we brought home after the tasting… Just know that our dog Buddy had a really bad tummy ache… We aren’t sure if Mimi got into the cupcakes too, but it is most likely the thing that set off that whole adventure… DOGS!!! They are lucky they are so cute. LOL!

time for more fun!

So I’ve been struggling with my fitness goals these days. It’s funny cause I used to be so gung ho (whatever that means) about doing events and training and stuff… now, I’m kinda bored or maybe just less motivated? I don’t know. I was talking with someone about this a while ago and they were talking about how good it felt to push themselves as hard as they could. Knowing they pushed hard and were exhausted at the end was all the motivation they needed to do it again. Unfortunately, I am not as easily swayed. LOL! I need to have fun while I’m working hard… (so I don’t know I’m actually working that hard) I’m motivated my competition with others or even with myself in hopes of being able to be better the next time I challenge someone. J

It’s that catch-22 that seems to keep me at home playing Wii or even just home “relaxing.” Just running/walking for an hour or two or three, knowing that it “makes me stronger” and “builds my endurance” and that I’m “getting a good workout” is not motivation enough to get my behind off the couch. L I want it to be fun… I’ll go all day if it’s fun or even just social. A walk with a friend or better yet a group of friends sounds like fun, not challenging. I’m able to get up so early to do the P90X every morning, because I am going to do that torturous workout with my Stacey. We aren’t even competing to be better than the other, we are encouraging each other to push past our own inner voice telling us to stop there.

I want to be fit again. I just want to have fun getting there. Anyone have a good idea of how I can find fun, social ways of working out?

A moment of mushiness. :)

So, I don't think I've ever been more excited to create and mail out over 200 Save the Date cards. Ok, so 200 is a little over our projected amount of guests, but you know not all of them are going to make it and well... what can I say Stace and I are kinda popular. LOL! Just kidding! We have big families and an awesome network of good friends. We love them all and appreciate each and every one of them.

I'm excited for many reasons. The biggest one, of course, is I get to marry the most beautiful, wonderful, amazing woman I've ever met in just 7 months. Eek! Is it really 7 months? That might explain why this wedding is always on my mind and I've started making "to do" lists.

Anyway, the other reason I'm super stoked for these cards is that our engagement photos turned out even better than I had imagined. Our photographer is awesome and we have gotten so many compliments on our photos. Our facebook buddies are gushing about them and our families are totally impressed and so so happy. I have heard on more than one occassion that those photos brought someone to tears to see how happy and in love we are. They are totally us and we couldn't be happier. Jenny is awesome and we are overjoyed to know that she will be there on our big day taking picture after picture of every moment!

I have to say, I'm really excited and looking forward to our big day. It's going to be awesome! Now, all we need to do is figure out all the little details... LOL! No worries, right?

Travel Mania!!!

So, it's 2010 (make sure you say it correctly as 20-10, NOT 2000-10. LOL). This is the year of travel and love for me. :)

January: We are headed to Chicago for a wedding and some awesome time with Stacey's family. I'm really stoked for this trip, cause I've never been to Chicago. I'm hoping we will get a chance to see the town that little Stacey grew up in. Where she rode her bike and played outside with her little sister and the sidewalks she used to run down in high school track. I'm such a sap for those nostalgic things, so hush up all you people out there wanting to throw up from all the cuteness! :)

This trip we get to see Robbie too!!! I'm really happy that he is making the trip to visit. We haven't seen his mug for far too long! I'm sure many hugs will be had.

February: I'm hoping to be able to get out to Leavenworth for Valentine's Day. We had such an awesome time last year and it's always so pretty in the winter around there. I think I simply must take another run (or two, or three...) down the little sledding hill in the center of town. I always feel like such a kid when I'm flying down the short hill at ridiculous speed! It makes me giggle just thinking about it. Leavenworth is a favorite destination for me. It's like a whole different world there and there is no denying that you are on vacation. :)

April: So, this one is a maybe trip to Chicago. There is another wedding, but the dates are a little fuzzy right now. I'm really hoping we can make it happen though. Chicago will be a lot easier to navigate without all that silly white stuff on the ground for sure. Then it will be an exercise in eating our way through chi-town. :P YUM!!!

September: This is going to be one amazing month. This is the month we get married. YUP! I said it. I'm getting married and I'm super excited! We are in the midst of planning the most awesomest party to celebrate our day. THEN... off to Hawaii!!!!!

Hawaii is sure to be so amazing. We are going to be staying on the big island in Kona and spending each morning sipping coffee on the patio while watching the waves lap at the shore... ahhhhhh... warm sunshine on our faces. Did you know that Hawaii even has a smell? It's such a wonderful aroma, full of the native flowers and ocean air. PLUS we will go snorkeling and hiking and horseback riding... it will be the most romantic trip ever. :)

As you can see, I'm in travel mode. I'm planning and deciding and getting super excited!

Welcome 2010. Welcome. :)
